We've Just Won Another Award!

A wedding reception is your gift to your family and friends. But it's more than that. It's your first big party as a couple; and it defines who you are, and how far you've come. A successful reception will make you the envy of your friends and families. A disastrous one will have just the opposite effect. Your evening's entertainment is by far the most important component of your planning, because it's what your guests will remember most.

Think about the last wedding reception you attended. Do you remember the wedding party's color scheme? Do you remember what you ate? Do you remember what flowers were on your table? Do you remember what wedding favor you took home? If you can't recall any of those things (and most people can't), then the bride spent thousands of dollars, and made no impression.

Now, do you remember whether you had a good time? Did you dance all night? Did the bride and groom have a great DJ, or a weak, obnoxious one? You probably remember him very well. Your DJ's performance is the last and most enduring memory that your guests will take away from your reception. And if you try to cut corners on your entertainment, no amount of expenditure on food, fashion, flowers or favors will rescue your big night. Quite the opposite, actually. A great DJ can rescue an otherwise lackluster reception, and turn it into a night of fun, bonding and great memories for you and your guests.

Fourth Estate Audio isn't Chicago's most expensive mobile DJ service. But we're one of only a handful of professional DJ companies in the area to be awarded the Better Business Bureau's coveted A+ Reliability Rating. You can pay more; but no company on earth has a better rating than ours. We've been featured in Crain's Chicago Business as an industry leader. We've appeared on VH-1. And we've achieved our unmatched success by treating each wedding as if it's our first, and personalizing our performance to the occasion.

But don't take our word for it. Here are some reviews from our recent clients:

What do you get when you hire a Chicago wedding DJ from Fourth Estate Audio?

At the wedding ceremony, we can, at your option, provide the proper processional and recessional music, plus any special requests during the service itself. If you have a singer who needs musical accompaniment, we can provide it. We also provide a wireless microphone for the officiant, and 15 minutes of quiet pre-ceremony background music at no additional charge.

During cocktails, we play appropriate background music-- usually piano instrumentals, classical music, light instrumental jazz, or the ever-popular Rat Pack singers (Sinatra, Bennett, Martin, Fitzgerald, etc.). If you have a preference, we will gladly accommodate it.

During dinner, our music is usually either classical or light instrumental jazz. Again, if you prefer something else, we will be happy to customize our music accordingly, though it's best to avoid vocals during dinner because they may interfere with your guests' conversations. Your Fourth Estate DJ will be happy to visit each table, meet your guests and find out what music they'd like to hear. Guaranteed to loosen them up, and make them feel like dancing.

After dinner, we introduce the bride and groom onto the dance floor for their first dance as husband and wife. If you want a separate song for the rest of the wedding party, we play it before opening the dance floor to your guests. In most cases, we play the bride/father and groom/mother dances a little later, so your guests can join the dancing as fast as possible instead of nodding off to sleep. Of course, we take requests for the rest of the evening.

Here are some questions you need to consider before the wedding:

"Do we want our DJ to introduce the wedding party? Or would we prefer a family member to do it?" "When do we want the wedding party introduced?" "Do we want music for the wedding party introductions?" "What songs would we like for our first dance, wedding party dance, and bride/father dance?" "Do we want to throw the bouquet and the garter?" "What songs do we absolutely NOT want to hear?" As veterans of thousands of wedding receptions, we will help you plan a perfect evening. Then you can leave it in our hands, while you enjoy your big night worry-free. Sound good?
